January 8-10 marked Disney's Marathon Weekend. The Siegels and the Duffys had lots of fun and logged many miles over a cold weather weekend.
Up & Away 5K
Courtney and Christie ran in the Up and Away 5K race on Friday. Courtney claims to have beaten Christie by over 2 minutes.
Disney Half Marathon
On Saturday, in rain & sleet, Christie, Pat, and Sue Duffy battled the elements and ran the Disney Half Marathon (13.1 miles). This was Christie's 2nd Half Marathon and we've stopped counting for the Duffys!
Disney Marathon
On Sunday, with temperatures in the high 20's/low 30's, Gray ran his first Marathon (26.2 miles).
Overall, 71.7 miles were logged by this running family, and not to mention the miles that Baliey logged being dragged around! Great accomplishments all around for everyone, and we all had ALOT of fun. |

In April, Christie, Gray, and Courtney ran the Pike's Peek 10K race in Rockville. It was a (very) hot day- temps around 85-90 degrees. Not the best weather for running, but it was very sunny!

This past January, Susan (Mama) and Patrick (Papa) Duffy ran Disney's 15th Anniversary Marathon. They've done 8-9 races total!

On July 24, Christie and Gray went out for a walk, which turned into a run, which turned into a trip all the way to Gananoque, 7 miles away (that's 11+K for you Canadians)!
Their run from Ivy Lea to Gananoque officially chartered the "Gotta Get to Gan" club. This is an exclusive membership with only 3 members so far (Sharon Furlong also made the trip a few years ago). Anyone is invited to join- the only catch is that you have to get from Ivy Lea to Gan by foot. Gray & Christie took 1 hour 25 minutes to make their run, and the donuts and water at Tim Horton's made it worth the trip!We Ran to Gan!
